  • GU Label ProfileIf you know anything about dance music you would have heard of Global Underground. Be it from their amazing compilation series, huge international tours, the release parties in obscure places around the world, or even their message board… regardless Global Underground has set the benchmark for years in terms of quality electronic mix albums from day one and since then has released various series that have pioneered the dance music scene as it stands today. Each release in the main series has been situated in a different area of the world, using some of the worlds finest DJs. These names include Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Danny Tenaglia, Paul Oakenfold, Deep Dish, Dave Seaman and the list goes on... Review : GU:024 - Nick WarrenThe dance music industry saw some hard times over 2002 and, with any luck, 2003 will bring strength to the industry that is becoming much more recognisable and seen a lot growth in terms of popularity. But these tough times put some of the bigger companies in bad positions and Global Underground was pushed to release a statement on their website to cease rumors of pending closure. The comment by Global Underground on their message board read as follows...
"The directors of Global Underground have voluntarily appointed administrators to restructure the company and help manage it through the current difficult financial climate that a lot of the industry is suffering. This is to dispel recent message board gossip on the subject."
Global Underground 024 by Nick Warren out of Reykjavik, Iceland is nearing release date (although it was pushed back a few weeks), and we have been assured that the release will still hit stores as planned.
