  • Paris's Batofar will celebrate its 16th birthday with a three-day programme of concerts and club nights running February 12th through 14th. Located on the banks of the Seine, Batofar has long been a go-to spot for Parisians who want to catch local and international DJs in a cosy setting. To mark the venue's 16th birthday of the venue, promoters of the iconic red vessel have decided to go blue, with a handful of exhibitions, mapping and performances centred around the "Blue Birthday" theme. The first birthday event will take place on Thursday, February 12th, kicking off with a performance by folk composer Shannon Wright. That'll be followed by a club night curated by booking agency ODD Fantastic, with Smallville's Christopher Rau playing alongside Oracy and Ngly. The following night, noise pop band September Girls will open before a Public Possession takeover with label affiliates Bell Towers, Anton Klint and Tiago joined by Beats In Space founder Tim Sweeney. The anniversary celebrations culminate on February 14th with a gig dedicated to UK label Swamp 81 represented by Loefah, Chunky and Paleman. Following the birthday weekend, Paris label Versatile Records will hit Batofar on Friday, February 20th, with label founder Gilb'R playing alongside DJ Sotofett. February 27th sees Phonographe Corp host a party with DMX Krew and Hodge. Tickets to the event are available here on RA.
