A performance of 1973 LP Outside the Dream Syndicate by Tony Conrad & Faust tops the bill.
Ten acts have been named as part of the initial lineup announcement. As in years past, a mixture of veteran experimentalists and contemporary techno artists make up the first round of names. Among the highlights is a performance of lauded 1973 minimal album Outside the Dream Syndicate by video artist and filmmaker Tony Conrad and German group Faust. Collaborative turns by Kangding Ray and Mogwai's Barry Burns as SUMS, and Regis and Ancient Methods as Ugandan Methods, are also locked in. On the solo front, Mike Parker, Fis, Chra, Ryo Murakami and Ena will all play live sets.
A variety of installations, audiovisual exhibitions and afterparties will run alongside the main event, with nearby venues Tresor and OHM set to host some of the action. The program for this part of Atonal, and the festival proper, will be announced in the coming months.
