Yoshitoshi is a label that has been responsible for some rather large records of the last decade or so. Established and operated by Deep Dish, the boys have witnessed their baby grow and expand with a large artist base and room to spawn a sister label called Shinichi, things have grown very well for this American based establishment.
Now, Yoshitoshi are ready to unveil a new label as the increase in music is pushes them to a new level. Giving us a good idea of what’s in store, Dubfire, one of the Yoshitoshi artists in the official press release stated “our fans have come to expect a certain level of quality from our eclectic output and we have no plans of making any concessions or compromises in the level of quality music which we’ll be highlighting in 2003 and beyond. With an emphasis on discovering and nurturing a new breed of talent, we hope to establish YO as a trendsetting outlet for today - and tomorrow’s – best producers”.
And with this in mind YO Recordings will see its debut with some heavy promotions at the Miami Winter Music conference, in April 2003. It's first release, 'Come To Me Baby' by American based newcomer 'Dave', and forthcoming releases by Sidekick (UK), Mr Groove & Vergas from Portgual, and veteran Louie Balo from NYC ensure the label has its feet firmly planted from the word go. YO will feature a focus on the 'Big Room' sound while still attempting to maintain that edge of class that Yoshitoshi and Shinichi are known for.
