- The Vancouver outdoor party series starts this weekend in Stanley Park.
The Vancouver Urban Spaces Initiative will host two open-air parties in Vancouver this year, one on Sunday, July 26th and and one in August.
VUSI have been hosting the Special Summer events for six years now now, and while the number of gatherings each year has shrunk, they've gotten bigger in scale. This year, Special Summer will return to Stanley Park and New Brighton Park, armed with an alcohol license and food trucks.
The Stanley Park party goes down on Sunday from 1 PM through 9 PM and will feature Calgary DJ Lorne B in the headlining slot, along with Edmonton up-and-comer (and new Vancouver resident) Khotin, Mirage Inc. and a back-to-back set from Bikes & Secret Lover. On August 15th, it'll move over new Brighton with an Edmonton contingent, featuring Common Edit's Dane and Heart To Heart boss Bron, rounded off with Victoria disco head Koosh.
