Chancha Via Circuito, Earth and Shabazz Palaces are also scheduled to play the art gallery and music venue in Portsmouth.
3S Artspace has shared highlights of their late summer and fall programming.
The Portsmouth art institution, founded in 2009, hired curator Dan Hirsch in March to oversee their performances and public programs. He previously directed the experimental music series Non-Event in Boston and programmed concerts at the city's Museum of Fine Arts. The venue—which is attached to a gallery and restaurant—has since become an important stop on the touring circuit not only for experimental and electronic music, but also for international acts from Latin America and Africa.
Highlights of their late-summer schedule include an August 6th gig with the left-leaning Seattle rap group Shabazz Palaces, as well as a Deerhoof show the following night. The digital cumbia producer Chancha Via Circuito will swing through from Buenos Aires on the 13th, leading up to shows with Earth and then Clark. Drone outfit Stars of the Lid will play on September 21st, followed by Autechre on October 5th and Sinkane on November 13th.
