Danny Wolfers' latest visit to the US starts this Thursday in Brooklyn.
Legowelt is about to embark on a five-stop tour of the US.
The prolific artist from The Hague, real name Danny Wolfers, has developed an extensive discography that stretches from mystical house and raw techno to trippy ambient and beyond. Recently he released an album through a new alias, Saab Knutson, and also saw his 2004 Smackos album reissued on Berceuse Heroique—those two catch him in a particularly out-there mode. He has another album as Calimex Mental Implant Corp. scheduled for release next month. On top of that, this US tour's flyer, and its title, "Your Life In A Bush Of Spaceweed," essentially matches yet another (apparently) new Wolfers project, Osiris Hair Salon. You can hear "My Life In A Bush Of Spaceweed" over on the Legowelt SoundCloud page.
Wolfers' trek includes a mix of DJ gigs and live sets. It starts this Thursday at Brooklyn's Good Room, where W.T. Records head Willie Burns is also confirmed. Friday, he'll be in Chicago to play Smart Bar, topping a bill that has Nation affiliate Beau Wanzer and MTZ taking care of local support. Saturday night has him billed in Miami at a new party at Grand Central called Invenire—Actress and Kassem Mosse are on the lineup, with each artist booked for his Miami debut.
Next Thursday the 17th, Wolfers is due in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for a night also featuring $tinkworx, AKA JT Stewart, a low-key producer who's appeared on Delsin, Bunker and Rush Hour. The trip winds down on Saturday the 19th in San Francisco with the We Are Monsters four-year anniversary party, which has added Nation boss (and previous Wolfers collaborator) Traxx to the program.
Tickets to see Legowelt (and more) in Brooklyn, Chicago, Miami and SF are available on RA.
