- The Israeli producer's third album, and first since 2012, will arrive next week.
Hakimonu is about to release his next album, La Conceptual.
A low-key artist from Israel, Hakimonu has spent the past seven years or so crafting his own brand of lush, ambient-tinged house and techno. Much of his music, including his first full-length, 2011's Cadences & Framework Techno Sketches - EVER, and collaborations with Roi Okev and Glós, is self-released through the Hakimonu digital label. He's also been championed by labels like Sleep Is Commercial (home to the expansive 2012 album Worlds Are Born Again), ESHU Records and Black Crow Records (where his first solo vinyl EP, Insular Realms, dropped late last year). More recently, one of his tracks has been put to use on Prins Thomas's upcoming Paradise Goulash mix.
La Conceptual, coming out on October 12th as a digital release through the Hakimonu label, is composed of material produced between 2008 and 2014. At around 70 minutes in length, it's a mix of shorter tracks and lengthy productions (four stretch past the eight-minute mark). As usual for Hakimonu, the album serves as a sort of spiritual message—the artist himself describes it as "opening doors" with "gentle impressions from the soul."
