Featuring a special-edition speaker unit along with the duo's preferred components from the modular headphone system, they're available in an edition of 500.
AIAIAI's current line of DJ and studio headphones are modular, meaning you choose your headband, speakers, earpads and cable to create a pair tailored to your preferences. (More on that here.) The Danish company also sells a number of presets based around specific uses, and on their website, you'll find artist configurations from the likes of Holly Herndon, Marcel Dettmann and Nightwave. Modeselektor's model is based around the combination the Berlin duo like to use when DJing: E02 earpads, H02 headband, C05 cable. The special sauce is a new pair of speaker units, the S73, a special build of the S04 featuring the duo's familiar primate visage around the sides. AIAIAI will only sell 500 of them, and they come with in special packaging with a Modeselektor-branded pouch in the box.
Of the headphones, AIAIAI says: "This combination provides heavy powerful bass. Recommended for bass lovers and those who like it loud. Deep bass is rendered well even at very low volumes and voices and highs are still maintained."
The TMA-2 Modeselektor Edition headphones are coming soon from AIAIAI for a suggested retail price of $250 / €250.
