A year-long ambient series called Monument will be held at LA's Museum Of Contemporary Art starting January 21st.
Organized by LA producer Nick Malkin, who releases music on Not Not Fun as Afterhours, and Brian Simon, who headlines the first show as Anenon, the series takes its name from the 1969 sculpture by Dan Flavin (pictured). Simon just announced his third LP as Anenon, Petrol, which comes out via Friends of Friends in March. The press release for Monument says the events will "pair musicians with specific pieces and/or galleries at MOCA to enhance the viewer’s experience of the artwork." LA musician $3.33 is also on January's bill, with details on upcoming lineups to come.
