- Kode9's label is releasing the LP on March 4th.
Fatima Al Qadiri's second solo album, Brute, is coming out on Hyperdub in March.
Hyperdub say the album tackles "authority, the relationship between police, citizens and protest worldwide," with a particular focus on Al Qadiri's adopted home in the US. This filters into the music itself—processed recordings of protests make their way into the LP—as well as on track titles like "Curfew," "Power" and "Battery." The label adds that the LP was written as a "a tribute to those on the front lines of protest and a condemnation of neoliberal fascism." Al Qadiri's first full-length, Asiatisch, came out on Hyperdub in 2014. She then released an album as part of Future Brown via Warp Records in 2015.
