- The Melbourne artists have teamed up for a new studio and label project.
Harvey Sutherland and Kane Ikin will debut a new studio and label project called Coup d’état this month.
The two Melbourne producers—Sutherland known for his jazzy house, Ikin for more ambient and abstract sounds—have teamed up for a four-track, self-titled EP which will serve as the first release for their CDT label. The 12-inch is a departure from each artist's usual output, resulting in a moody club record that "takes the ecstatic dysphoria of Basic Channel and shuffles it through Thomas Bangalter's skulking night drive," according to a press release. The label will focus on releasing music from Australian artists.
You can stream a preview of the record below.Tracklist
A1 Doublespeak
A2 Safety In Numbers
B1 Stateless
B2 Utopia
CDT will release Coup D'etat on February 8th, 2016.
