A new M83 album, Junk will land via Mute on April 8th.
The popular band is helmed by Anthony Gonzalez. Junk follows 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming as well as 2013 soundtracks for films Oblivion and You And The Night. The new record features collaborations with Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør as well as Beck and 19-year-old instrumentalist Jordan Lawlor, who Gonzalez hired through an open audition process.
Speaking to the album's title in a press release, Gonzalez wrote:Anything we create today is going to end up being space junk at one point anyway. I have this image of pieces of humanity floating in space, lost forever... People will listen to an album, for instance, and just pick a track they like to put on a playlist. They're not going to take the time to listen to an album anymore because they have to jump on the next thing.
