Hubert Clarke Jr's wax outlet will close its doors, at least temporarily, after a gig this Saturday afternoon.
The compact Chippendale record store was first opened in September last year by local producer Hubert Clarke Jr, stocking a wide variety of house, techno, disco and "everything from jazz to African folk to Japanese pop." After its six month run, they'll have one last afternoon session with Sydney DJ Preacha playing with an unannounced guest between 11 AM and 5 PM. Clarke Jr says "with a little luck we'll be reopening in a couple months not far away" and urges customers to "pick up a record and help us live on."
Clarke Jr recently dropped his debut EP, Al Dente, via 100% Silk.
