Carlos Niño will release Flutes, Echoes, It's All Happening via Leaving Records on April 22nd.
The LA native has been involved with a long list of musical projects spanning hip-hop, soul, jazz, psychedelic and New Age. He's also hosted the Spaceways show on local radio station KPFK for over 15 years and released on labels like Alpha Pup, Ninja Tune, Plug Research and Soul Jazz. Niño's next LP will land via the cosmically-inclined Leaving Records, run by LA scene staple Matthewdavid (who stars in Real Scenes: Los Angeles, which dropped today). It features hip-hop producer Madlib, jazz composer Kamasi Washington and Iasos, one of the early pioneers of New Age music on the West Coast.
Miguel Atwood-Ferguson joins Niño on strings for the track "It's All Happening," which you can hear below.
