  • Celebrated Sapporo venue Precious Hall will be moving after a marathon farewell party this month. First opening its doors in 1993, Precious Hall is the Japanese city's oldest operating club. It has been at its current location in central Sapporo since 2014 when it merged with its sister venue, Fillmore North. The David Mancuso-inspired space, which James Murphy cites as a major inspiration for his Despacio soundsystem, will be farewelled this weekend—at least temporarily—with a host of regular acts. Laide, Coll and Ananas are among the artists appearing on March 18th. That is being followed by a 22-hour session on March 19th with more than two dozen locals on the bill including Kuniyuki, who will be DJing as well as performing solo on piano. Precious Hall's next incarnation is expected to be announced soon.
