- Eight of the German band's albums, along some with unreleased live material, will see release in April.
Cluster's back catalogue is the subject of a new box set from Bureau B, coming out on April 15th.
The German band, made up of Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius (and Conrad Schnitzler, when they were still known as Kluster), were one of the most important influences on modern electronic music. Their own albums, and collaborations with Brian Eno, touched on krautrock, experimental and ambient music. Their full discography from 1971 through 1981 will be collected on the new set from Bureau B, a Düsseldorf label that has already reissued a few Cluster releases and also handles Roedelius's new project, Qluster.
Cluster 1971-1981 contains classic albums like Zuckerzeit, Sowiesoso and Cluster II, along with both of the group's full-length collaborations with Eno. A ninth disc features two previously unreleased live recordings: one from Hamburg in 1972, and the other from a concert in Metz in 1977. All of the records were remastered by Willem Makkee, and the set comes with a booklet with essays and photos. It'll come in a limited edition of 1500.
