San Antonio council in Ibiza has announced a suspension on "dynamic advertising" in the clubbing hotspot.
The new decree suspends ticket selling and PR work on the streets of San Antonio, as well as parades. According to The White Isle, the decision was made after years of complaints from both tourists who felt harassed by street workers and local businesses who felt like advertisers were encouraging people to go to other venues. It also took into account the "environmental impact from the endless amount of dropped leaflets and flyers." The council has said it will draft up new legislation to regulate street advertisement, but for now a blanket ban is in effect.
