- The Berlin duo's new album, The Yard Work Simulator, is out in May.
Max Graef and Glenn Astro have signed to Ninja Tune for an album called The Yard Work Simulator.
Graef, the jazz and funk-obsessed Berlin house producer, has quickly built an audience for his warm grooves, as heard on releases through his own Box Aus Holz as well as his LP for Tartelet Records, Rivers Of The Red Planet. Recent RA podcaster Glenn Astro also released a debut album, Throwback, via Tartelet. Together, they run Money $ex Records—that label released the debut LP from the Max Graef Band, Dog, late last year.
For the new one, Graef explains that they "wanted to make a dance record without the obvious components." Ninja Tune says "the result is a 10-track trip through the pair’s deliciously warped psyche." As usual, Graef and Astro favor a live-feeling, hardware heavy process.
