  • Flying Lotus has scored LoveTrue, a documentary that premieres on April 15th at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. Director Alma Har'el won Best Documentary Feature from the same festival in 2011 with her debut feature Bombay Beach. Her second, LoveTrue, is a "genre-bending documentary" that seeks to "demystify the fantasy of true love," says festival curator Cara Cusumano. It's produced by actor and performance artist Shia LaBeouf, with an original soundtrack by Flying Lotus, AKA Steven Ellison. This isn't FlyLo's first time working in film: he scored the short FUCKKKYOUUU, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival early this year, as well as the 2014 drama Imperial Dreams (which featured Star Wars' John Boyega). Ellison also said on Twitter last year that he was writing his own script, though there's been no more news on that front.
