- The New York producer's latest release was inspired by the short-lived science fiction drama Nowhere Man .
Willie Burns (AKA William Burnett) will release a new Black Deer record, Nowhere Man, on Rush Hour's No Label soon.
While previous efforts made oblique comments on American patriotism, such as his ode to the Native American Indian, Trail Of Tears (also for No Label), Burnett told RA the new record came from an obsession with the mid-'90s television show Nowhere Man, in which a documentary photographer has his entire existence seemingly erased overnight. He was so inspired by the program that he made a series of YouTube videos using clips from the show which he scored himself. Then, he says "it became this record somehow."
