- The 2012 full-length has been put to wax for the first time, along with a remix EP headed up by Abdulla Rashim.
Posh Isolation is reissuing Motor City, a 2012 album from Stockholm artist Martin Herterich's Sand Circles alias, alongside a new set of remixes.
It's the first vinyl edition for Motor City, and actually the first full release on wax for Sand Circles. Originally, the set of experimentally-inclined synth pop came out via limited-edition cassette on Not Not Fun Records. But it's not the first time Herterich has connected with Posh Isolation. In 2013, the Copenhagen label, run by Christian Stadsgaard and Loke Rahbek (together known as Damien Dubrovnik), put out both a Sand Circles production as well as a tape from Broken Lights, one of Herterich's noise-focused aliases.
A press release says Motor City "points "to Detroit from a distance," while "[presenting] the idea of a metropolis, with all the nauseating ecstasy and sweet desperation that such a place holds."
The reissue drops today, along with a four-track remixes EP. Leading off that record is a new take on the title track from Northern Electronics boss Abdulla Rashim, firming up a link between his label and Posh Isolation (the two have toured together). Yen Towers, who released on a tape on Posh Isolation a couple years ago, and two Astro:Dynamics affiliates from Sweden, Quiltland and 1991, also contribute to the cause.
