- It's the final entry in a trilogy that Drew Lustman produced between 2009 and 2012.
FaltyDL's Mean Streets Part Three will land on Swamp 81 on April 29th.
Loefah's London-based label released Mean Streets Part One in 2011, then followed up with Part Two a year later. Both records are heavy on sample work, breakbeats and dense, syncopated rhythms. "While Planet Mu and Ninja Tune were taking my more UK sounding clubby tunes at the time, Swamp 81 were after my New York sounding joints," FaltyDL says of the vinyl-only series. "It reminds me of living on Saint Marks street in Manhattan in a shoebox making tunes all day hearing neighbors fight and fuck." The three-track EP is his first release of 2016, following his Rich Prick Poor Dick 12-inch for Ninja Tune last September.
