  • Dâm-Funk will pay tribute to his late hero, Prince Rogers Nelson, at this week's Funkmosphere, Thursday at The Virgil. Damon "Dâm-Funk" Riddick has long acknowledged the Minneapolis legend, who passed away last week, as a massive influence. In 2012, when Wax Poetics released their tenth anniversary Prince issue, Riddick pulled together a mix for the occasion, which included his own version of "17 Days." Riddick is a resident at Funkmosphere, a boogie, disco and house weekly which started nearly ten years ago at Carbon in Culver City before moving to East Side haunt The Virgil a couple years ago. On Thursday, he'll be playing "originals, productions, rarities" and "protégés," according to the flyer. Listen to Dâm-Funk's RA Exchange podcast below.
