L.I.E.S. will release M. Rav's Common Purpose in May.
M. Rav, short for Max Ravitz, is best known for his releases as Patricia. Under that name he's issued a couple of well-received albums on Opal Tapes, including last year's Bem Inventory. The new one has Ravitz working with a raft of collaborators including Cloudface (D. Reynolds), Bookworms (N. Dawson), Huerco S (B. Leeds), Jahiliyya Fields (M. Morandi), his wife Josephine Kingery, Terekke (M. Gardner) and Ngly (E.G.Rodolfo).
Each of the 15 tracks is named for the artist he worked with. Ravitz told RA that the record was label boss Ron Morelli's idea, as a compilation of sorts gathering up the producer's collaborative work. Ravitz also works with Arp as Masks and Lumigraph as Black Mold. The forthcoming full-length is a CD-only release, with digital formats to be made available later.
