- It's the first record from Steve Summers under the name in seven years.
Rhythm Based Lovers will release Frequency Illusion/Number Games on Future Times May 9th.
Jason Letkiewicz, the man behind the project, is best known as Steve Summers. Under that name, he's released a number of EPs for L.I.E.S., Clone Jack For Daze and Confused House (the label he runs with New York producer Nicholas Dawson, AKA Bookworms). The Italo-inflected Rhythm Based Lovers hasn't put out a record in seven years. His debut under this alias, Boogie Vision / Snow Drift was the second release on Max D's Future Times imprint.
The label offers a colorful description of the EP: "once again the songs are split up into DANCE and ROMANCE sides. On the Dance Side we have 'Frequency Illusion,' a glorious slap of vibro-house for the deejay crew, coming in hot like a rugged Pal Joey tune, and on the Romance Side we have the slow hypnotic funk of 'Number Games,' complete with dope mantra vox and Italian slo-house chug."
