  • Laraaji will headline a seated concert at the Highland Park Ebell Club on June 17th. The new age artist, born Larry Edward Gordon, has been making music for 40 years, but has recently come to be seen as a guru-like character for younger acolytes of the genre. Previously known best for Day Of Radiance, his 1980 entry into Brian Eno's series of ambient albums, in 2011 he collaborated with Pennsylvania-duo Blues Control on RVNG Intl's FRKWYS Vol. 8. Following this release, his tunes have been remixed by artists like Bee Mask and Sun Araw in between live gigs and visits to institutions like Bushwick's Body Actualized Center, where he's led laughter meditation workshops. He'll perform live in LA alongside Matthewdavid, the Leaving Records boss who recently issued a three-cassette Laraaji box set, All In One Peace, comprising music made between 1978 and 1983. Local three-piece Inga round out the bill. Listen to excerpts of Laraaji's All In One Piece box set below.
