Datach'i will release an album, System via Venetian Snares' Timesig imprint in August.
New York producer Joseph Fraioli released a few LPs of IDM and breakcore in the early-'00s, including one for Planet Mu called Mmale And Ffemale. Fraiolio went quiet around 2006, choosing instead to spend time building up his sound company Jafbox Sound, FACT says. (His 2003 track "Greenwood Mating Ritual" appeared on Planet Mu's 20th anniversary compilation.)
Datach'i's first album in ten years, System, will land on Venetian Snares' label Timesig in August. He was inspired to return to the spotlight after becoming interested in modular synths and building his own Eurorack system. "I’d been making a series of performance videos showing how they work, and that inspired me to start making music as Datach’i again," he says in a press release. "I suddenly realized I had a growing collection of tracks that worked together and had something new to say."
