Juan Mendez will play for Capriccio and Music For Downers in early July.
Silent Servant will kick off July with gigs in Brooklyn and Chicago.
The busy LA-based DJ, producer and Jealous God co-founder, real name Juan Mendez, is due back in Brooklyn on Friday the 1st, where he's atop the bill for a Capriccio night at Good Room. Live sets will come from Xeno & Oaklander, who've just released a new album through Ghostly, and Stallone The Reducer, the former ADULT. member now connected with the FIT label's Est. 83' Records offshoot. Analog Soul, AKA DJs Jacky Sommer and DatKat, will play in the Bad Room.
In Chicago, Mendez will play a party hosted by Music For Downers at a space called Club Rectum. Leading the local side of the lineup is Beau Wanzer, an adventurous DJ and producer who's released on the likes of Nation and L.I.E.S. (not to mention his own BW label), while a live set will come from Michael DeMaio, who put out a cassette album on Opal Tapes early last year.
Mendez's brisk output of late includes this cut from his recent L.I.E.S. debut, "Self-Hypnosis."
