Proceeds from the September 15th party will go to the respected photographer, who's currently in hospital awaiting a liver transplant.
The Sheffield-based Bloodworth has chronicled a generation of producers and DJs through his photographic work, collaborating with the likes of Rinse, FWD>>, Bleep and Tempa. Organisers of the fundraiser say that he's "been in the Northern General Hospital [in Sheffield] for four months now, waiting for a liver transplant."
They add: "He's also suffered an infection that led to him having his lower leg amputated. His transplant is now imminent, but it's becoming critical that he receives a new liver soon. Shaun is also self-employed, so this enforced and lengthy stay in hospital, and subsequent rehabilitation, is making a bad situation even worse. These event are a chance for his friends to create something positive for Shaun and his family at this awful time."
The lineup for the fundraising event speaks to Bloodworth's standing in UK dance music. The likes of Geeneus, Katy B, Benga, Pearson Sound, Josey Rebelle, The Black Dog, Lone, Loefah, Mary Anne Hobbs, Tessela, Untold, Eclair Fifi and Special Request are all on board for the event, which is happening on Thursday, September 15th, at Ministry Of Sound in London. More surprise guests will drop by on the night.
All money raised from the event will go directly to Bloodworth and his family, as well as Live Life, Give Life, a UK-based organ donor charity. You can donate directly here.
