The Austin synth group has locked in 22 dates stretching from September until the end of the year.
S U R V I V E will head out on the road for a lengthy tour this fall.
Though the synth quartet has been building a cult following out of Austin, Texas over the past five years, the last couple months have been a wild ride for the band. One-half of the group, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, scored the Netflix hit Stranger Things. That soundtrack was released earlier this month, and Dixon and Stein are staging the live debut of the show's music at Unsound this year. In addition, S U R V I V E is ramping up to the release of their highest profile LP to date, HD0037/RR7349. The full-length is out on September 30th via Relapse Records, the same day they head out on the road.
Relapse describes the group's live show as "towering stacks of hardware synthesizers, drum machines, effects, and amps supported by an amazing custom light show and thick, industrial amounts of fog." The band starts out in their hometown Austin, before looping through Arizona for four shows in California. They'll stop off in the Pacific Northwest for an engagement at Holocene in Portland on October 11th and Seattle's The Crocodile the following night. After that, it's back to the Golden State for a Santa Cruz gig and an appearance at the Desert Daze Festival in Joshua Tree.
S U R V I V E and their supporting act, Pittsburgh synth man Majeure, will then travel the east coast, with shows in Atlanta, Carrboro (North Carolina), U Street Music Hall in DC, 714 in Philadelphia and Good Room in Brooklyn. In November, they'll play Jersey City, Alston (Massachusetts), Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Chicago. S U R V I V E will wrap their banner year with a New Year's Eve gig at It'll Do in Dallas, Texas.
