Octo Octa, Volvox and a few other local favorites will join the bill for a free 12-hour party in October.
It's one of a few music, art and performance events happening as part of BOOM week in Bushwick (BOOM stands for Bushwick Owners and Organizers Movement). The goal of the four-day event series is to "activate collaboration between the neighborhood's organizers and artists, celebrating the evolving diversity of the community and its wealth of creators." For their Saturday night program they'll host a free late-night party presented by local promoters Seva Granik (who runs the Unter techno parties) and Discwoman co-founder Frankie Decaiza Hutchinson.
The lineup is all locals, with a wide-reaching mix of house, techno, hip-hop and more experimental club fare. Umfang, whose new 12-inch just landed on 1080p, is scheduled to play alongside fellow Discwoman artist Volvox as well as Kim Ann Foxman and Octo Octa. Also on the lineup are Jacky Sommer of Analog Soul and LSDXOXO, whose mixtape Fuck Marry Kill inaugurated the new GHE20GOTH1K label in June. Suzi Analogue will perform live.
The event will run from midnight to noon. It's free with RSVP.
