It's out on Cosmic Bridge in October.
Bristol-based Jim Coles has been working at the crossroads of dubstep, drum & bass, footwork and jungle for years now, establishing the Cosmic Bridge label in 2011 as an outlet for those experiments. The Torchlight series is a case in point—the label describes it as "a trilogy of sonic meditations on form over function... exploring ideas that are truly perpendicular to the standard templates of dubstep, jungle, and drum & bass."
Where volume one featured Digital and volume two had Mark Force on board as a collaborator, the third Torchlight brings Bristol legend Krust into the mix. He worked on the eight-minute A-side cut "Underground Cinema," which Coles wrote and arranged, with Krust adding synths and effects.
Check out a recording of Coles playing with Sam Binga at Sunfall this past summer.
