- The LP is due out on Transmat in November.
Francesco Tristano has revealed the details of his next album, Surface Tension.
The eight-track effort includes four collaborations with Derrick May, the pioneering Detroit artist widely considered one of the techno's founding fathers. According to Tristano, who's a classically trained pianist, Surface Tension is his "most techno and synth-based project yet." It's due out on May's Transmat label on November 25th, and will be available digitally and on vinyl.
"The piano is there, Tristano says. "But it's more like the shadow of the piano. We don't have the mass of that sound, it's more like the reminiscence of that sound."
