  • Perpetual Dawn will go down in an underground location on October 7th. The brainchild of Kid 606, the party has built up a strong following in LA based off of its combination of whimsical themes, free snacks and unorthodox musical programming. The October event is called Perpetual Dawn "Don Dada," referencing patois slang, and is headlined by globetrotting DJ, author and "renegade anthropologist" DJ Rupture. (He also happens to be this week's RA Exchange subject.) In LA, DJ Rupture is joined by Duppy Gun, headed up by previous Perpetual Dawn guest M. Geddes Gengras and Sun Araw. The project combines leftfield Californian producers with MCs the duo met in Jamaica, initially during a trip to collaborate with The Congos. Awesome Tapes From Africa affiliated percussionist SK Kakraba will play live with Kid 606 delivering a set as well. Listen to DJ Rupture's RA Exchange podcast.
