- The Canadian experimental artist's next LPs, Vergers and All My Circles Run, will come out through Important Records and Students Of Decay, respectively.
Sarah Davachi has two new LPs, Vergers and All My Circles Run, coming out soon.
Davachi, a Canadian artist who splits time between Vancouver and Montreal, has a drone-heavy approach to experimental composition. (RA's Andrew Ryce praised her set at MUTEK 2016 as one of the festival's key performances.) These upcoming efforts will be her third and fourth albums, after last year's Barons Court for Students Of Decay and this May's Dominions for Jaz Records.
Vergers will arrive late next month on Important Records, a Massachusetts imprint whose Cassauna offshoot put out Davachi's August Harp cassette in 2014. Davachi crafted the record using one electronic instrument—an EMS Synthi 100 synthesizer—along with a violin and her own voice. All My Circles Run, another work for Students Of Decay, was made entirely without a synthesizer. Instead, each piece focuses on a different acoustic sound source. The album is due in January or February of 2017.
