Seven cities on the eastern half of the continent are on the schedule, starting with Chicago next Thursday.
Loscil is gearing up for some touring around the eastern half of the US and Canada.
The Vancouver artist, AKA Scott Morgan, is known for making ambient and minimal music inspired by his Pacific Northwest roots. On this series of seven gigs, happening over the course of just eight days, he'll be playing live audiovisual sets based on material from his latest album Monument Builders, due out on Kranky this week. Joining Morgan on the lineup at the first five dates is Benoit Pioulard, another Kranky fixture—the label released his LP The Benoit Pioulard Listening Matter last month.
Chicago's Constellation kicks things off next Thursday, followed over the next three nights by Detroit—where one more Kranky-connected act, Windy & Carl, will play a rare gig—along with Philadelphia and New York. The New York show is part of a two-night Kranky showcase at Le Poisson Rouge called Let A Frown Be Your Umbrella, where FORMA and recent RA feature subjectSteve Hauschildt are also booked. A three-night run of Canadian concerts, by way of Montreal, Kingston (for the 15th annual Tone Deaf Festival) and Toronto, completes this trip.
