- The imprint is separating from the Samurai family.
Samurai Horo is now just Horo.
The news comes in the midst of an ongoing shuffle at Samurai's Berlin HQ, after the main imprint relaunched earlier this year. Horo, which was originally founded as a vinyl-only subsidiary to Samurai, is the latest to get a reboot. The relaunch separates the experimentally-minded imprint away from its drum & bass parent completely.
The first two releases come from past Horo staples. Ancestral Voices, formerly known as Indigo, will provide the first record, Yantra, while ASC will handle the second, Geocentric Systems, which the label describes as "an EP of fervent Grey Area experiments" that moves the hybrid sound "into darker territory." Both are set for release on December 9th, and will come on digital as well as vinyl formats.
