- €100,000 will be invested to convert the former factory into a festival-ready space.
Nuits Sonores' 15th edition will take place at the Fagor-Brandt factory in Lyon's 7th arrondissement.
Located in the Gerland district, the same area that Nuits Sonores hosted its 2012 and 2013 editions, the 4.5-hectare industrial lot was once the site of a factory making household electronics. After changing hands a few times, the space has remained vacant since October 2015. City authorities have given approval to Nuits Sonores to use it for their 15th edition, which is taking place from May 24th through 28th in 2017. While the city will take care of cleaning up the area, the festival will invest €100,000 to convert the facilities into a festival-ready space.
It'll be the first time Nuits Sonores has changed location in three years. In the past, most of the festival's programme has taken place within the Confluence neighborhood, including the city's former wholesale market, Ancien Marché de Gros, which is being turned into offices. The first names for Nuits Sonores' 2017 edition will be announced in the coming months.
