- The six-disc retrospective, due out in January, celebrates the sound of Ron Trent's label with classic and rare material alongside a few unreleased cuts.
Rush Hour's anthology box set for Prescription, the influential deep house label operated by Ron Trent, is scheduled for a January release.
Ron Trent Presents Prescription: Word, Sound & Power, initially revealed back in June 2015, will take the form of a 6xLP set with 24 total tracks, many of which are classics that have become increasingly difficult to find on wax. Material from Trent's solo and collaborative endeavours on Prescription makes up much of the compilation, and that includes a few previously unreleased productions: "Energy," "Black Magic Woman" (with vocalist Harry Dennis) and "History." Chez Damier, who co-founded the label alongside Trent in 1993 and helped run it until 1996, and Anthony Nicholson, who frequently partnered with Trent using names like Urban Sound Gallery (USG) and Konfusion Kidzz, are also featured, as are Angora and the late Laura 'Ani' Gavoor.
