  • A new nightclub is opening in Madrid tonight (Friday, December 16th) called Ballesta. Dance music bookings at the venue, which is located on Calle Ballesta in the central Malasaña neighbourhood, will be run by Alfonso Pomeda and Jacobo García, two figures with plenty of experience in the capital's electronic scene. Pomeda DJs as F-ON and runs a record store called Is the Place, while García DJs as Clap Kent. They will put particular energy into Belleville, the club's first weekly residency, taking place on Friday nights. Scissor & Thread's Frank & Tony and Damian Schwartz will play the first edition, with residents F-ON, Leonid, Jose Rico and DJ F dropping by later this month. The rest of the week, the club will host parties centered on its sizeable pool of residents, as well as concerts, which will be overseen by Emilio Jiménez. The current residents roster includes Damian Schwartz, Cumhur Jay, Javi Redondo, Dll Outro, Toni Rox, Marcus Miller, Pablo Serrano and Mzs y Alversen. "We want to develop something like our own sound," says the press release.
