  • The Melodies International label is reissuing Tomorrow's People's 1976 album, Open Soul. It's the second release on the label, which is run by Floating Points, DJ Love On The Run, Mafalda and Javybz. Tomorrow's People are a soul group from south Chicago made up of four brothers—Kevin, Maurice, Gerald and Timothy Burton. In 1976, they produced their first and only full-length, Open Soul, which went on to become a collector's item among soul heads. Now, for the first time in 40 years, Open Soul will be reissued in collaboration with Timothy Burton, who helped restore and master the LP from multiple copies of the original pressing. (The master and multitrack tapes were destroyed more than 20 years ago.) Out January 27th, the reissue will come accompanied by Tomorrow's People memorabilia and an interview with one of the Burton brothers. Listen to clips via Melodies International or stream the title track. Last year Melodies International reissued Aged In Harmony's You're A Melody, which was one of RA's top reissues of 2016.
