  • Ryuichi Sakamoto is releasing a new album this year. The Japanese artist will release the LP through Milan Records, the label that put out his score to Alejandro González Iñárritu's film The Revenant, which he co-wrote with Alva Noto and Bryce Dessner. Sakamoto's website currently has a countdown to the new album's release date—March 29th in Japan and April 28th elsewhere. It also displays the message "SN/M?50%," which could be a clue to the LP's title. Sakamoto, an influential composer and musician and founding member of Yellow Magic Orchestra, was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but issued a statement the following year saying he was in "great shape" and was returning to work.
