The intimate spot, which has also been refurbished, will welcome Avalon Emerson, Peverelist and Archie Hamilton in the coming weeks.
The basement of Manchester venue Joshua Brooks is now called Versions.
Though the upstairs bar will still be called Joshua Brooks, the downstairs has been rebranded and refurbished, fitted with new lights, a custom-built DJ booth and a four-point Void Acoustics soundsystem. (The old staging has also been removed.) For the first time in two years, the venue will run in-house events—titled Versions—as well as hosting external promoters. Versions launches on Thursday, January 26th, with an Ossia party headed up by Dan Shake, followed by Beeswax on Friday (Pinch) and Fella Cutie on Saturday (Krywald & Farrer).
Versions will launch its in-house series with Jasper James on Saturday, February 11th, before Kowton and Peverelist play all night at the second edition (in collaboration with Different Gravy) a week later. Other highlights from the coming months include Versions X Ossia with Avalon Emerson on March 3rd, Cult with Pender Street Steppers (March 10th), Boogie Nights with Lumberjacks in Hell (March 17th) and Archie Hamilton and Rossko at You&Me on March 18th. March will wrap up with two more in-house parties: Lobster Theremin (nthng, Asquith) on the 24th and ItaloJohnson on the 31st.
