  • Perc has a new album, Bitter Music, on the way. Bitter Music will be the third LP for the seasoned UK techno producer, real name Ali Wells, after 2011's Wicker & Steel and 2014's The Power And The Glory. Like those, it'll see release on his own Perc Trax label. We're told Wells had more introspective ideas in mind when he started work on Bitter Music last March, but the year's political upheavals—in the UK and beyond—prompted a broader perspective, one "delicately balancing the personal and the political." While the album is described as more focused on the dance floor than previous LPs, it also recalls "the sound of early electro-acoustic experimentation," while live instrumentation is employed more than on any prior Perc record—Wells plays piano on some tracks, and session musician Ian East plays flute on "Chatter." Also involved are vocal collaborators like experimental artist Gazelle Twin. The album will be out in late April on CD, double-vinyl and digital formats. Tracklist 01. Exit 02. Unelected 03. Wax Apple 04. Chatter 05. I Just Can't Win 06. The Thought That Counts 07. Spit 08. Rat Run 09. Look What Your Love Has Done To Me 10. After Ball Perc Trax will release Bitter Music on April 28th, 2017.
