- The five-track EP, Covert II, may include uncredited material from Plaid, Luke Vibert or Aphex Twin.
Touched Music and De:tuned will release the Covert II EP tomorrow.
Touched is best known for its massive charity collections that benefit Macmillan Cancer Support, landing material from the likes of Autechre, Orbital and Holly Herndon. The five tracks on Covert II, up for pre-order on a day when all of Bandcamp's proceeds benefit the ACLU, are all credited to unknown artists, but FACT has done some sleuthing.
"Plaid appears to be a likely contributor," the site says. "As one Discogs user points out, the track 'Filmed Lipear' is an anagram for 'Plaid Melifer,' a track from the group’s recent album The Digging Remedy." The press release also says Covert II contains "a variety of Cornish acidic sounds," which may refer to Aphex Twin or Luke Vibert, who both hail from Cornwall, England. The EP is out tomorrow to mark World Cancer Day with the Belgian-based De:tuned label handling a limited vinyl version.
Head over to Touched Music's Bandcamp to pre-order the EP.
