- A new full-length from the US deep house favorite lands in late March.
New York house DJ Fred P has a new Captain P album on the way through his Soul People Music label.
Escapism, the seventh overall full-length from Fred Peterkin, will be the second credited to his alias Captain P—or more precisely, The Incredible Adventures Of Captain P—after a 2010 self-titled CD. The 11-track album, described as "one of [his] most personal and stylistically varied records," sees the producer drawing inspiration from his world travels, featuring bits of field recordings he captured while out on the road. Lady Blacktronika, who has previously collaborated with Peterkin, appears here performing vocals on "These Times."
Accompanying the album's late-March release will be a short film, also titled Escapism, that promises to "provide further context to the project's themes."
Peterkin has kept busy in early 2017. He put out a 12-inch on Soul People Music under his techno-focused Anomaly alias, and next month he'll put out a Fred P EP through Secretsundaze.
