  • Synthesis Technologies has a new Eurorack module. The E370 Quad Morphing VCO has almost doubled its Kickstarter goal within a few days of launching, indicating a feature set uncommon in the field of Eurorack modular systems—the designers claim it is "the most technically advanced Euro oscillator available." Featuring four voltage-controlled DSP oscillators, the E370 can operate in different modes that draw from pre-existing Synthesis Technologies modules. A morphing wavetable mode allows users to blend between 64 waveshapes per oscillator (you can also upload your own) while a cloud generator mode stacks up to eight sine or saw waves on to each oscillator. Every mode has two voltage-controllable modulation parameters specific to the functionality of the mode, along with CV inputs for FM, pitch and sync. Each oscillator can be controlled individually, in pairs or together in unison formation. A micro SD card slot is available for saving and loading up to 16GB of presets and wavetables, which can be organised using a display that can also function as an oscilloscope. Although the E370 met its original funding goal, the designers will implement linear FM control if pledges total $115,000 (the total at time of writing is over $100,000). Pledgers can expect to receive the module in November 2017. Watch Richard Devine testing out a prototype of the E370.
The Synthesis Technologies E370 is available from $879 and is expected to be available in November 2017.
