- The respected Jersey club producer has compiled 15 unreleased tracks, many of which have already racked up millions of views on YouTube.
Local Action will release an album from one of the most influential figures in Jersey club, DJ Jayhood.
Jayhood is part of a second wave of Jersey club artists that also includes producers like Sliink, Nadus and R3ll. A number of his tracks have reached anthem status in the local scene—racking up millions of views on YouTube and Soundcloud—though few have been collected for official release on an international label. Now the UK outfit Local Action has snapped up an album's worth of his "greatest hits," some of them remixes of popular hip-hop and R&B tunes, for an LP called King. It follows recent Local Action releases from D?WN, AKA Dawn Richard, Yamaneko and Lil Jabba.
"To understand the real context of the music it’s important to trawl YouTube for the dance contests and homemade videos that are so key to Jersey club," the label writes. "But the raw power of these tracks stands up in its own right."
