The Barcelona festival has also added a new stage to its Sónar By Day programme.
Barcelona's Sónar festival has announced its third wave of acts for 2017.
More than 60 artists have joined the lineup, including Andy Stott, Jlin, Cerrone, Matmos, DAWN, Elysia Crampton, Princess Nokia, Earl Sweatshirt, Veronica Vasicka, Robert Hood (who will perform with his daughter Lyric) and Brainfeeder associate Thundercat, who just released his latest album, Drunk. There are plenty of new Spanish acts too, including Dellafuente + Maka, Bad Gyal, Anímic, Aitor Etxebarria, Bejo, Playback Maracas and Fran Lenaers.
Sónar has also confirmed it's adding a new stage, called SonarXS, to Sónar By Day, saying it will "showcase new talent and underground sounds in close quarters." Atrists confirmed for SonarXS in 2017 include Kiddy Smile, Total Freedom, Deena Abdelwahed and DJ Florentino.
This year will also see Resident Advisor return to Sónar to co-curate the Saturday night programme at SonarLab. The lineup features Carl Craig (presenting his Versus Synthesizer Ensemble), Daphni (playing back-to-back with Hunee), Marcel Dettmann (playing back-to-back with Dr. Rubinstein), Beautiful Swimmers, t q d, Overmono and Ylia.
